I am a lifelong resident of Columbiana County with two studio spaces in Salem, Ohio. Daydreamers Art Studio, LLC, opened in 2004 and I teach art classes for children and adults.
I retired in 2012, after 25 years in public education. I taught Early Childhood Education at the CCCTC for most of my career.
In 2016, I expanded into an adjacent space and opened Crooked Tree Studio. This allows me to separate my personal art making space from the teaching classroom. I also have a small area to show and sell my work in Crooked Tree. Visitors are always welcome!
I work primarily in clay and focus on hand-building large asymmetric vessels and sculptural wall pieces. “I’ve always been fascinated with the textures, forms and colors in the world around me and find clay to be the best medium that allows me to translate those forms and textures into art.”
Art has always been an interest, but was not my major area of study. I added art classes whenever I had time. I studied art at Kent State University in Salem and continued classes at Youngstown State University. I completed my Master’s degree in Art Education at Kent State University in 2002.
Sales and Exhibits
Visitors are welcome to stop in to Crooked Tree Studio (Penn Ave., Salem) to see what I am working on. I have a small show and sales area for those looking for unique art to give as gifts or to enhance your home or office.
Reach for the Stars, Gift Shop and Gallery and Lib's Market (Salem, Ohio) both carry my art work.
I was represented by Journey Art Gallery, Canton, Ohio, and at Gallery 29, Sharon, PA. until they closed. My art work has been accepted into a number of juried local and regional exhibits, including the Hoyt Regional Exhibit in New Castle, PA, the Area Artists Annual Exhibit at the Butler Museum of American Art, Youngstown, OH, and the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center's Regional Exhibit. My art work is also part of several private collections.
